WE HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES
It was a beautiful morning... the sun was shining, the birds were singing, the rink was open... it was a great day for some Derby Dancing.Great lighting? Check.
Awesome music? Check.
Hot dance instructor? Check.
Awesome Finale? Check.
Sexy people dancing everywhere? Check.
Put baby in the corner? Nope, baby was at home that morning with Wicked Hips.
Yes, ladies and gentleman, that morning Wicked Hips wasn't able to make it to our Derby Dancing class because she was at home giving birth to the new and upcoming derby girl on the team. Just give her another 18 years and we'll transform her from 8lbs of cuteness into a self-confident, outgoing, strong-as-an-ox Derby Queen.
In the meantime, however, we worked at trying to help transform our fans with some spectacular cardio dancing led by Sophonda Drama. The music was fun and fast, just like the derby demo that followed it. We had an assortment of Derby skaters from around the region who came out and jammed with us during the cardio Derby Dancing workout, and then jammed with us on the derby track afterwards. Everyone got a great workout that day! (Except for maybe our coach, Notorious J.O.E., who sat on the bench moving his jaw more than his feet during the dancing. Probably because it didn't involve skates. He wouldn't know a new idea if it hit him in the 'Pachenga'. HA!)

We want to give a shout out to all the people who came out to support us and who participated in the Chinese auction and raffle. It was great to see so many people there cheering us on and giving us 'five' as we sped around the derby track! And we can tell that you all loved the prizes that you won! (Especially these two!)
As Johnny Castle said..."Sorry for the interruption, folks, but I always do the last dance of the season. This year somebody told me not to. So I'm gonna do my kind of dancin' with a great partner, who's not only a terrific dancer, but somebody... who's taught me... that there are people willing to stand up for other people no matter what it costs them. Somebody who's taught me about the kind of person I wanna be."
Look for pics of that morning coming soon on our PURR Facebook page!
